2011 – yearly review

A lot of things happened in 2011.

  1. My love Lisi gave birth to my son Jakob on Sept. 19th – always an awesome feeling when new life arrives on this earth …
  2. We’re still looking for a new place to live. The search for new houses or flats is a hard job :)
  3. Full Ironman finally done before my 36th birthday in Podersdorf.
  4. Visited my friend Max in China, Shenzhen – new impressions of this world
  5. Visited lago di Garda the first time with my family #nice place
  6. Gentics, Alex/Haymo/my company, is doing very well. Thanks to our great team. Great new clients arrived.
  7. The book “Nullzeit, Sex und Tiefenrausch”, written by my friend Leo and me, is published in it’s second edition. Translated in Dutch and Polish.
  8. Mischa & my Enterprise 2.0 community http://www.enterprise2punkt0.at is bringing highly interesting topics to the surface
  9. In January Clemens and I launched our Triathlon Online Trainingplan Service TriCoreTraining http://www.tricoretraining.com
  10. I couldn’t attend the exciting Nullzeit.at adventure tour to Florida …. 2012 – we’ll visit Bali :)
  11. Friend news // Alex’s son became 1 year – time is passing horribly fast // Clemens bought his first house // Haymo made the Aloha Editor (our most innovative product at Gentics) world-famous http://www.aloha-editor.org
  12. Watched my first Icehockey match live
  13. I read around 15 books – far too few … #improve in 2012
  14. Great climbing tour on Sas Rigais (Southtyrol) with Alex & Haymo – we’re still alive ;)

This article could only be done with the help of the new timeline feature of Facebook ;) . And damn, I write too much in Facebook.

Let’s see what 2012 will happen. Hopefully not what the movie “2012″ is expecting …

New goal – Ironman in Podersdorf Aug,2011

Finally I decided to do an Ironman before the next goal – my 2nd child. My decision is Austria Triathlon Podersdorf.

3,8 km swim
180 km bike
42 km run

Estimated time between 13 and 14 hours.

It’s on Sunday, August 28th 2011. If you want to support me, come in the afternoon – it’s marathon time :) .

Geolocation and engaging Facebook Pages

Aloha!

How to use your weekend better than playing around with tech gadgets ;) .

I’m currently working on an improved mobile version of our Gentics website. Reading the api from google maps I work on a detection script for user’s current position. Won’t use jQtouch because I heard from Matthias (Getdesigned) that it diffcult to use without getting a lot of errors on different devices.

Why most WYSIWYG Editors are NOT WYSIWYG Editors!

Wikipedia defines WYSIWYG as

“WYSIWYG (pronounced /ˈwɪziwɪɡ/[1] WIZ-ee-wig) is an acronym for what you see is what you get. The term is used in computing to describe a system in which content displayed during editing appears very similar to the final output,[2] which might be a printed document, web page, or slide presentation.”
